or the technically inclined this thing is a breeze to install and setup. For those that lack the technical edge it could be a little intimidating. All in all the camera works flawlessly with an exceptional picture and most ip camera software supports the camera or something close enough to work. Great product and I would recommend it. he wireless range seems okay. I had the camera a few rooms away from my router and it was holding 18Mb/s and the aforementioned 15fps.

Documentation is poor, but all questions were answered satisfactorily by a pleasant and knowledgeable Zmodo technical person. They helped with initial set up, later helped set up wireless. They helped set up e-mail on motion detection and also with sending FTP pictures. All in all, the camera seems to work well, the price is very reasonable, and technical help is great! Out of 4 completed calls to Zmodo, I had to wait a short time twice, and call back twice which I did not think was bad considering the valuable information I received. (Posted on 5/23/12)

I just got the camera and it comes with no instructions about how to use WiFi at all. It's not mentioned anywhere. There's a screen on its embedded web browser where you can enter your WAP's SSID and password, but doing so does not cause the camera to actually use its WiFi connection. I don't see it on the WAP, I don't see it even trying to contact the WAP in its logs. I'm starting to wonder whether the camera actually has WiFi capabilities, or just an antenna plug.

This camera comes with almost NO useful written instructions. Web tech support was non responsive as was the toll free number. Direct dial tech support reach someone. After experimenting with 2 routers, I could never get the email function to work, despite 45 min with zmondo tech support actually making the changes. I never got email to function at all. It does decent night and day vision, but DVR, motion detect... Have had NO success! My recommendation is to NOT buy this camera. (Posted on 2/26/12)

This is a great outdoor wifi camera, but setup is not for the newbie. Knowledge of ip schemes is essential and a temporarily available nic port if your wifi is secured.

Color is washed out and cloud fluctuations trigger the motion detector so much that that feature is useless outdoors.

However, if you want to keep an eye on an area even in the dark - this is a very cool affordable way to do it! (Posted on 2/15/12)

Although I have no experience with other IP cameras, this one does exactly what I want. It does not require a computer beyond initial setup. The camera has a built in web server that is easy to access and configure. The picture quality is adequate. The night vision is great. During the day, the colors will appear to be off, but this is due to the sensor's sensitivity to infra red light for night. Overall, I think this is a good camera, and will buy a couple more. I bought this because it was a moment of notice decision. I had to choose from FASCOM and Zmodo and picked up this one. I am not sure if I made the wrong decision.

The product came and it worked out of the box. I am well versed in networking and was able to manage installing it without any problem. Called the tech support for two routers DDNS support and got good info. Was able to determind my voip router directly connected to the internet won't support ddns and was able to put it in front so all worked well with my netgear router. Was able to view the camera from Europe and receive email alerts without any problem.

However, the actual operation of the camera is a problem even with the help from zmodo tech on line for over 2 hours. (Posted on 1/16/12)

I installed this camera to watch deer and other wildlife coming to a feeder at the edge of my yard. The setup was easy if you know anything about computer networks, and the picture quality is very good for a model in this price range.

I give this one a thumbs up! I would buy it again.
